The trades are realistic, maybe even a bit self-depricating, except the Petry deal, which is awful. I don't think Juolevi is headed in the right direction developmentally, so this is a huge gamble. Baertschi is in the minors, so I'm not sure how this improves the Habs. It's certainly not worth the gamble unless there is a pick in 2022 or 2023 that compensates if Juolevi never makes the jump to being an NHL regular.

Tatar for a #1 is a fine return, but Montreal should reserve the right to defer a year in case Dallas ends up in the semis or finals.

Byron is untradeable at the moment and will be until he gets 30 games back under his belt and shows whatever was bugging him is fixed. He was not the same player after training camp, so this could be a much bigger issue than anyone is saying. On the over hand, Weal is very marketable but not for a pick that is that high. Maybe try swapping a third and a fifth instead.

@HabsRafiki Let's say:

Petry vs. Juolevi + 2nd round pick 2022 (Became a 1st round pick if Juolevi doesn't play X games until then)
Tatar vs. 1st round pick (conditional: either 2020, or 2021 if Dallas reaches semis)
Weal + 5th round vs 3rd round pick

We sign Jesper Fast to a 2-3 years deal AAV of $3MM to add some speed to that 4th line.

MT always loved Byron and if healthy, he can help this team reach the playoffs.

why would you sign Kreider to a 7x4? also no way you get a second for Weal

Kreider w/ Gallagher would be the worst line to play against. Kreider is a 50-60 points/season guy who would help this team a lot. I agree that $7M is huge, but I'm only accepting this amount on a 3-4 year deal. Not more
I change the deal to Weal + 5th for a 3rd

Kreider is reported to have already told the Rangers he wouldn't accept a trade to Canada, so I think the chances of signing him are slim.

Ylonen could be ready then. We save $7M and sign Pietrangelo instead of Gustafsson
