Goodness, why on earth would you trade a bad expiring contract for a bad 5 year contract, erik johnson is far superior to mark barberio, I'm not sure that this team is better, and you're helping nashville gain more cap space to get better with

Yeah doesn't seem worth it for 5 years of 6 mil for a 3C, who is underperforming right now. I would also rather have johnson than barbs in the lineup. I under stand going after vatenan for another RHD for playoffs, i think this is way too much change though for over halfway through the season

How is NSH gaining cap space here? Johnson's cap hit is equal to Turris', and the Preds are taking on Wilson's salary (which would hamper their ability to improve at the deadline, if they're in a playoff spot then). I'd rather have Turris than Johnson, and Allard over the 4th. Preds pass.

Next year you lose Wilson's 2.6 and hamhuis 1.5, which saves you 4 mill.

Instead of losing hamhuis 1.5 but now having to replace that slot either with vet another dman or elc between 700-925k which only saves you about 600-800k

We save Wilson's 2.6 by not taking him on in the first place. And if we keep Allard, we can replace Hamhuis for less than half the cost, next season. Paying Johnson $6M to play 3rd pair next year, then praying Seattle takes him (which seems unlikely - the Preds will have to expose better players than Johnson) doesn't make any sense.

Yes that's correct, but thats not the trade, you could also save money by not signing anyone..

If you dont take wilson and johnson then you have to keep turris for 5 years...

Do you understand what I'm trying to say? I'm not talking about this season

Turris is better than Johnson (couple years younger too). I'd rather have Turris than EJ.

Allard is close to NHL ready, if he's not there already. I'd rather have Allard than a 4th.

NSH doesn't have a spot for Wilson, and his cap hit would cause problems, if the Preds are deadline buyers. I wouldn't want him at all.

Turris and Allard have more to offer than Johnson - not just now, but going forward. Do you understand a trade has to provide value of some sort for both teams?

You're arguing with me about how you also wouldnt do this trade but the argument is for a different reason, i also said I wouldn't do this..

Even though I disagree with some of your reasoning, let's just say this isnt a doable trade
