A huge overpay? I mean the third round pick wouldn’t be needed but for the rest it’s exactly what tatar will cost. Personally i would ask for another prospect then puljujarvi. A big baby who can’t handle professional hockey won’t attract a lot of interest.

How many players have had more then 45 point last year with edmonton and how many will get to that mark this year??

You might not want to pay that price but a guys who already have 40 point is worth that kind of package at the deadline. If you are to cheap to pay the price there another that will for sure. If he would be on the market, he’d become instantly the best forward on the market.

Thompson will draw interest. A team will offer a late pick, maybe 4th or 5th round.

I see Thompson as a fit for the Isles, he seems like a player Trotz would like and could offer a 5th or 6th and Ho Sang if wanted.

Yeah this is probably what the habs will received for thompson. A late round pick, but there a few team that will be interested in him, i think that tampa bay would like to land a guy like that since they have a young roster.

McDavid on pace for 126, Draisaitl 125, RNH 61, Kassian 52, Neal and Klefbom 47 and Yamamoto 5 in 7 a pace for 59 over 82 games. If we’re trading our 1st and JP it’s for a player with 3+ years left or someone who will be an RFA when their contract ends. Holland already said he wants a young player to help the team long term.

At 4mil for this year and next year, that package will draw attention from others team. Pool party don't take ammunition away from the team to go further in the playoff this year. JP don't have a higher value now than 4 months ago, change him for something else if needed, but I think it's a cheaper price right. Otherwise EDM would have trying to keep him close to the team or in the team

In the playoff or prior, if McDavid or Draisaitl get injured, it reduce greatly the team to produce offence. Most players on that team benefits from those two guys.

If his value is so low and Tatar is worth so much then go trade for someone else.

Don't have high expectation of return on a 4th liner of a bottom team, but if it fetch a late pick, why not

I like Tatar. Especially at 4M. But not for JP and a 1st for 1 year of Tatar. Edmonton isn’t that deep and even if we had Tatar we still would need to make another move to get a better 3 C. And with our goalie situation with neither being able to solidify their status as a #1 I wouldn’t mortgage the future just yet.

Only if Puljujarvi returns to the NHL and actually develops into a useful player. Neither of those things are good bets.

        Vegas thinks you’re nuts

Eakin seem to be the player that get the most often traded from other Vegas GM team, that why I took that salary to take back. Reaves work too, but then, I would assume Carrier will be staying

Eakin 3,85 mil / Petry 3.5 mil (2 mil retained). Keep Eakin if you like, but you need a bit of cap relief to accept a trad, current cap is 291k
2021 2nd and 3rd, it's almost a pick swap, it will be a few position difference, that could equal Kovy value (if he keep his MTL production and commitment )

For the rest, I just based on Muzzin trade to TOR last year, it seem lower value that Muzzin trade. Similar player with similar stats, I think vegas should not trade prospect at this point as the team higher salary will age at some point.

It's a little heavy in the Habs' favour, but the Knights can certainly spare the two grinders (why Montreal wants them is another question), so it comes down to the picks. Here, it's a little ambitious, but it's probably not "nuts".

Benson is looking like he’s NHL ready and Yamamoto is looking good playing in the top 6. 5 points in 7 games all EV. I’m guessing if they don’t move JP by the TDL Holland would look to move him and maybe a pick for a player of similar age like Connor brown. Someone who can move up and down the lineup if needed.
