Zucker is not a star player but the majority of hockey fans believe he is a star.

Now would you do Bjugstad, Hallander, and a first?

Exactly. He's a 28 year old second line winger who has one season where he scored over 22 goals. Shouldn't need to send the farm for him.

Not really a big overpayment. Galchenyuk has almost no value. Hallander is a nothing special prospect, probably a decent third line centre. Our first round is going to be at least 20+ plus in the draft. Zucker is former 30 goal scorer that is solid and has a great two way game. Maybe switch the 1st to a 2nd and its about the right price for him.

I think the reason his value is perceived to be this high is because MIN is going to need to cash out on him if they’re gonna part with him. The most common package I’ve seen and have been using is Bjugstad, PO Joseph, and a 2021 2nd which would barely impact the Pens from a farm system perspective.

rather move gally, last year in his contract and we for sure aren't going to resign him. Bjugstad can be a solid 3rd liner for us for the rest of the season and has another year left on his contract.

My only issue is that I think the pens will need the extra cap space in the offseason to sign their RFA’s but I agree with what you’re saying.

Schultz is coming off the books, can easily move bjugstad too. either way i would rather Kreider anyways, since its less commitment.

Agree and I luck Zucker. I think he’d be a good fit on Pittsburgh but this is almost as much as what Arizona paid to get Hall.

Agree Bjugstad could be a really solid fit at 3C. A Simon-Bjugstad-Hornqvist line would be great. They were last year. Get a top winger for Sid.

My main rental guy has been Toffoli because I feel like he’d light it up with Sid and McCann and it would allow Simon to go back with Bjugstad and Hornqvist which was a very solid line last year.

Him too. Rakell would be a dream. Great player who can score and is on a team friendly team for the next few seasons.

jugs is probably the 1st cap casualty on the Pens next year.
We know Chucky is out, and Schultz too. But the cap is a mess. They will need space. And you can't move horny due to his clause and JJ is harder to move than Jugs.
I mean that's really it. I After this season those 3 are the only bloat left on the roster.
It takes them 2 years to move Horny to seattle. They will probably lose their 1st round pick in doing that. My guess is they will take a goalie that isn't our starter, 1st and take Hornqvist.

Because of that. I don't see them moving that 1st round pick and I don't see them taking on a long term contract on wing. Because the last place they want to be is in a cap disadvantage when needing to make that move. Never negotiate if you have no leverage.

The truth is Jugs might be the cap casualty this year if GMJR straight galaxy brains it and goes for Zucker. I feel like fans are itching for someone “replace” Kessel but forget that Guentzel is essentially the Kessel replacement now in terms of cap money. I saw on Twitter this morning that Minnesota is now open for business so we’ll have to see where this goes.

I don't know if they move him till the end of the season. It's hard to tell.
I think the guy they can really try to move for a decent return is Schultz. If they can move him out and get a McCann type deal out of it. That's what they need.
Schultz at this point is a 3RD. He doesn't fit that role. Teams need puck movers for the playoffs. They can get a good return on him.
The more I look at it that's the right move for them.
No one else has a tone of value. Jugs doesn't, Chucky doesn't. But Schultz can get you a good return and it clears cap space.

That would work in so many ways because it keeps Pettersson-Marino together and it would most likely get them a young winger. If I’m the Penguins I’d eat 50% and trade him to Toronto to reassure they get Johnsson or Kapanen in return.
