Thornton is still a pretty decent player and Marleau is a solid fourth-liner. I think for the duo it would have to be something like Bracco + second.

Who is turning 30 with 7 years of term. That is a risky trade and he isn't a #1 defenceman, he's a #2. A terrific player no doubt but of course since he isn't a Maple leaf he is worth triple to the Leafs because reasons.

No. Hes worth William nylander or an equivalent player on another team.

His contract will run out when he is 36 and is only 6.5 million a year, a great AAV. He plays over 23 minutes a night, tops for RHD in nashville

He also isnt turning 30, he turned 29 2 weeks ago

All trade history indicates the team that moves a top 6 forward for a top 4 D man loses everytime, I'm sure you want Nylander but Ellis IMO is not worth Nylander which is why I offered a 9-6 Forward, a solid prospect a 2nd and 1st rnd pick. That's Ellis value
