Brodie finally sells his house in Calgary

Created by: lRONHlDE31
Team: 2019-20 Calgary Flames
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 16, 2020
Published: Jan. 16, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Just looking to get something, anything, for Brodie before he ruins us in the playoffs....

I think in limited time Clendening has done well and he'd be a decent 7th D. Boyle is a great upgrade to our 4th line C and still allows the flames to have a good 13th forward by pushing Rinaldo and reider out of full time duty. Stone can handle 3rd pairing duties and won't cracks under pressure in the playoffs

With the cap savings we can re-sign our free agents

You’d get a better return for Brodie from another team. Columbus wouldn’t make that trade as we have no need for another LHD.

Lol, it was hard to find a 7th D we would even want. I see your point but with brodies record in the playoffs playing d he's not worth much in my opinion. Just looking to make cap room and minutes for our young guys

God please dont sell Brodie and keep Hamonic Tre, he's been great this year.

As for 4th line C Reider, Bennett and Ryan, and Gawdin are all internal upgrades we can use and we should 100% focus on moving Backlund to 3C first

Ryan's the 3rd line C so he's out. Bennett can do it as can reider so I can see that. I wouldn't throw gawdin to the wolves by putting him in the playoffs without some regular season minutes. Brodie won't be re-signed but I think Hamonic will and he'll stay on a pairing with Hanifin. Backlund isn't going anywhere he's been nothing but great for us for years.

um... I said move backlund to the 3C position then put Ryan at 4C. not sure how you interpreted that wrong. That is by far the best move

Lol, it's definitely not great but he can score and he's got size so along with the pick he may get us a good 4th line C. Also don't want to take playing time from our players or give up too much for a player we don't need long term

1.65 million but I suppose that's not the only number you round up. Also he has 31 goals the last 2 seasons and players don't just forget to play hockey at 25 years old. It's why he needs a change of scenery...

You're right, you lose him for free to waivers instead of trying to get something for him..... Solid plan

No he said he felt too much pressure playing at the 2C role and it was causing him to wear himself out. being shifted to RW really lightened his load

if scoring goals was the only relevant part of hockey Toronto and Edmonton would be the undisputed best teams in the league. Alas there are 2 sides of the ice rink and Jankowski is very good defensively. Yes he is having a bad year but just calling him out on his point production this year and not his previous 2 years is as ignorant as when people said Kadri is no longer a 30 goal scorer this summer.

That makes more sense. He's a good centre I wonder what his stats are playing wing. Maybe he does move to 3c and we get another winger?

That is likely the plan, LeBrun said Flames are looking at Toffoli
