His GAA sucks because NYRs whole team isn't the best. But his Save percentage is .911 which is decent

And coming to a notoriously brilliant TML D will just make it better right ? Also not a coincidence NYR is trying with Shesterkin already.......

No wonder Bernier went from 1st Rounder into a bust and Andersen fell from 2,38 GAA and 0,918% at ANA to 2,87 GAA with same % at TML.....think again......

No, until like December this year, Georgiev and Hank were the two best players on the rangers, the rags were literally the worst team in the league (skaters wise) and we only above DET bc their goalies, obv he's cooled down since then, but you can't expect a guy to face 20-30 high danger chances per night for an entire season and not eventually start letting some in... On a competent team he probably has a .920% sv%

Plus GAA for goalies may be a worse stat to use than +/- is for skaters

Okay I'll try and make this make sense for you:

-They are trying with sheshterkin because he has the euro clause in his contract and was 15-4-3 with a .932 sv % and a 1.93 GAA in the AHL. Not because Georgiev isn't playing well.

-Toronto fans keep acting like he's "just a backup"-- if he was 28 or older sure i would get this.. but you are talking about a young goalie who has put up respectable numbers during his age 21-24 seasons (he turns 24 next month). He's a future starter. With andersson only signed for one more season, and the fact he'll be 32 by the time an extension kicks in, trust me you don't want to extend him long term (look at the cap problems lundqvists contract is currently causing)

- Here is the defensive core for Anaheim the season prior to anderssons trade (they also were the 6th best team in the league btw): Josh Manson, Sami Vatanen, Cam Fowler, Clayton Stoner, Kevin Bieksa, Hampus Lindholm. They also had three very good defensive centers in Getzlaf, Kesler and Cogliano. I don't think toronto's defense now, or in 2016-17 was anything close to this-- slight regression was inevitable and predictable.

- As currently built, toronto is the better defensive team, offensive team, and has better coaches. The ONLY reason why the rangers and Toronto have similar GA per game, is BECAUSE of the play of Lundqvist, Georgiev and Shetserkin.

Georgiev's team has left him out to dry an insane amount of times so there have been a few bad games (i can think of the ottawa, toronto, edmonton, MTL and Tampa games)
The fact is, he's faced 30+ shots in 16 of his 22 games and has a record of 11-4-1 in those games. Of the games he didn't face over 30 shots, 5/6 of them were against playoff teams (and one of them was in relief so 4/5 games started) and his record is 1-4 (he beat the one non playoff team)

this statement is incredibly naive-- look at advanced stats and say that again. While his cap hit may be a burden, his play is still very good (not where it was during his prime though)
Georgiev is on the block because the rangers have other needs and they are blessed to have enough goalie depth. It's similar to when Nashville traded Seth Jones because they had a ton of defensive depth but needed a center. I'm not saying Georgiev = Jones or Johansen, I'm just showing that teams will trade from depth to fill a need. This doesn't decrease an assets value, it just makes that value expendable for the right price
