Big balls and big brain should pay attention to some cap crunch issues haha.
Im assuming that Stalock deal is insurance for Holtby leaving in the summer?

Yup, and goalie depth if needed

I don't know a lot about McMichael but the combination of players and picks in the Wild trade are intriguing.

They're only asking a 1st, two 2nds, a 3rd, a stay at home defenseman with five fewer even strength points than Dumba this season at half the cap hit, and one of the stars who just helped Team Canada win the WJHC. Where's your objection, exactly?

edit: whoops. and a usable NHL backup goalie on a three year 1.2M contract. Totally forgot Copley. Sorry.

McMichael is a future star and is tearing up Juniors. He will be in DC in 1-2 years, so he is NOT a throw in to any deal for oft injured Dumba or goalie insurance. He's worth a 1st or 2nd by himself IF he were to be possibly traded. Same for Leason, Protas, Alexeyev, etc...the Caps have very good prospect depth.

Can he help on the power play? I bet he could...

BTW Andrew, if you want the Isles to beat the Caps on Saturday, get word to Trotz to tell his players to commit penalties as the Caps are so bad right now, it gives the offending team all the momentum...wink

He's all defense, no offense. Not what he was last year. How's Dumba doing?

Referring to the Stalock, Dumba for Jensen, McMichael, Copley, 1st, two 2nds, 3rd as the "Stalock deal" made me lol. Stalock is arguably the second lowest value piece of that 9 piece trade.

Doesn’t matter what I say, expect the caps to have 27 power play opportunities though

McMichael is probably almost off the table for trade talks. He's now the Caps #1 prospect, and looks like a future playermaker in the making, a replacement for Backstrom when he retires.
