Of all the positions the Leafs can't give up is RHD...despite the ineffectiveness of Barrie

I think he could be an ideal replacement for Hamilton this year, but I don't think we would give up what Toronto fans think he is worth. He is not a game changer the way Hamilton has been for us this year, and we would have no interest in re-signing him at the numbers that have been floated around on some boards. Personally, I would not give up 1st rounder for him.

Gotta think you have to go looking for non playoff teams for a trade. Sens RHD DeMelo., Might be slim pickings in a trade as so many teams are in playoff contention.

I certainly look at Barrie differently. IMO Barrie got a nice bump when Keefe arrived, but lately has just been poor defensively. Keefe is smart enough to know that Holl and even the maligned Barrie are the RHD penalty killers. Barrie would the first Dman to be traded or press boxed if the Leafs had another RHD.

Hes at around 56% xG under Keefe. Hes always been bad defensively. Ceci will definitely sit over barrie and he will most likely be traded before they ever trade Barrie
