Dougie broke his leg last night for one. Two, Dougie was on track to be a norris finalist this season. That is a massive underpayment for a player of his caliber.
If you are spending two 1st round picks you better be getting someone better and younger than Zucker.

Its basically a year of Dougie for next year compared to three months of Shultz for this year....and it gives CAR a chance to sign Shultz if he impresses

I still would rather lose a 2nd rounder and a prospect to get Vatanen for this year(for CAR) and have Dougie for next year and this years playoffs

Read the explanation. It was meant as a basis/starting point of key pieces. Not the final trade.

I saw in one of the throw away "trade rumor" pages that MIN was interested in Chucky and one of blueger or riikola plus for Zucker. The Pit first and the MIN second is essentially what they did with the reaves trade where they just move back a few draft positions (not a big swing). then other first for next year makes up for the cap dump of chucky. I thought it was a slight over pay but Zucker has term for a reasonable cap hit.

And I was aware that he got hurt, just didn't know how long he would be out. That's why I said in the description that the trade was a basis. NOT the final deal and I wanted CAR input on what else pit would need to give up. If hes out for the season I would say PIT wants nothing to do with it but if he could be back as a late addition they should be interested.

Zucker is a $5.5M 45 point non-physical, meh-defensive forward. He is not worth that package, at all.

I don't know why anyone even wastes their time with this. It would never fit under the cap.
The only reason it works is Jake is on IR and the RFA haven't got their raise yet.
Come the off season they would have to have a fire sale to stay under the cap.
