Why move Kovy when he's been amazing
Imagine him and Caufield

And why move penalty killer Thompson

We aren't making the playoffs.

Kovalchuk is 36 Years old, and if he continues his PPG pace, we will get a premium for him at the TD
Thompson is 35, and we have good options to replace him next season.

Like I said, Kovalchuk is 36, he's going to get another year older, who knows if he will even be a top 6 talent next year. Worst case, we trade him for a 3rd or 2nd round pick and then resign him as a UFA. Those lines aren't even factoring Caufield or anybody else that we sign for next season.

Poehling, Vejdemo, Cousins, Teasdale, Evans are all possible options.

I don't think that really matters, if he was 28-32, it would be different, but he's 36 and won't be a lost cause if we don't get him back.

I'm keeping 1st line together and making sure Kovy has 2 setup men;
4th line can go many different ways

Tatar Danault Gallagher
Kovalchuk Domi Zuke
Drouin Kotk Armia
Byron/Lehkonen Poeling/Thompson Lehkonen/Byron
