We'll talk about the Marner "overpayment" in a couple seasons when he still has 3 years left on that deal while Tchuck, Point, Mier and all those other 3yr deal players are signing 12 per x 5 deals

In fairness though, then you'll turn around and sign Marner to a 12 x 5 deal or more three years after that and he'll be three years older than those guys when they signed their next one.

The Marner contract isn't good, but it's also not pathetically bad like everyone likes to think. Marner's a very good player.

Well maybe in 2-3 seasons his deal won’t look as bad with the cap going up.

His deal doesnt look bad now. Its going to be better in 2-3 years.
