With Tarasenko on LTIR, the Blues don't need anyone to retain salary on a contract less than 7.5mil. And considering they're doing very well atm, they probably won't move their first round pick for trade deadline help considering how poor our farm is right now. 2020 looks to be a deep draft.

Downgrade the first to a second, remove the retained salary...maybe there's something there that could work. But I would imagine another team could give a better return for Krieder.

They do look great this year and have a chance to repeat. Hate to mess with their chemistry but Kreider would be a solid fit to their style. Think you’re right if they’re wanting to keep their first that someone else could go bigger

I can't see the Blues making any significant trade deadline deals. If they do anything, it'll be to bring in a journeyman defensive player to add depth for the playoff push.
Kreider is a rental, no way the Blues make a move like this unless there is a significant injury to the top 6 in the next few weeks. NYR will get a much better package anyway, next call please.
