Too much for Brodin. He's a fantastic defenseman but this is a lot. I'd hope for Necas in a Brodin or Dumba trade but I doubt Carolina parts with him.

Edit: want to clarify I think the Wild are adding to Brodin/Dumba in a hypothetical Necas trade

Necas no, which is why I went for Kuokkanen, but we have Suzuki too remember. We just need a D man with Dougie down for the year, and was hoping to get one from you guys because of the great trade we made almost a year ago.... (sorry, had to mention it)

I think if any team wants Brodin or Dumba they will almost certainly be parting with an asset they don't want to give up. Guerin is no Fenton, and we don't have to trade Brodin or Dumba so he's not going to force something just for the sake of making a trade.

Since you appear to be the canes expert or atleast a knowledgeable fan I have been wondering about Eetu Luostarinen. Can you tell me about his game? What kind of trade package would it take to acquire him and what is his ETA in the NHL?

Honestly, Eetu came up earlier in the year and looked very promising. If Wallmark didn't have the scoring and defensive upside he does, Eetu would be in the NHL right now. He's a bog physical forechecker with nice hands and good speed. His shot is powerful, but it lacks direction. I'd expect him to be up in a season or two in Carolina. As for a package, I'd have to imagine Eetu would have to be part of a package to strengthen the roster right now, probably for a D man since Dougie just went down

Obviously, I understand that. But Carolina aren't going to want to part with Suzuki either, and Necas right now is the only right handed forward playing games (Williams still hasn't made an appearence yet)

So maybe a Brodin for Eetu and a 1st. Not sure how close that is but from what you say and what I've read I think it is a fair deal.
