They would probably like it more if the Penguins just went ahead and took Cody Ceci back. Can bury him in the AHL and the Penguins have the cap room with LTIR.

Jake isn't on LTIR for cap reasons. It has to due with the bonuses.

Pens would have to add but Kapanen would be a great fit on a line with Sid.

If Leafs move Kapenen for D man it'll be for a player with term and cost control, it's a waist of a asset in Kapenen a young good winger that can play up and down the line up, kills penalties for a Rental D man, in all honesty if Kap is play to fill that need then targets would be Connor Murphy, Mat Dumba, Josh Manson etc. I'm not saying Kapenen alone gets those players but those Term/AAV/age of player would be the targets.

???? I don't know the current edition of Schultz replaces at RHD that makes the Leafs that much better on defence. Kapanen is the Leafs 5th or 6th best....his years of control doesn't get trade for so little. Schultz is IR, don't know about hs return.

Disagree. Pens play a tougher style of hockey, Kap is not tough. He'd be a black sheep on the top 6 and honestly, Kap isn't more then a middle 6 player. Pens need a top line winger right now for the playoffs which in general is a tough style of hockey and why the Pens have had so much success.

I feel like this is exactly why people are hellbent on Zucker.

What do you mean by the word “tough?” Do you mean they play a more heavy, physical and intimidating brand of hockey or that they play with high intensity and lots of forecheck? Because the Penguins teams over recent seasons, they play with intensity, forecheck and win battles off the puck in order to support their speed and puck possession style. However, they aren’t very physical or heavy at all. I don’t think Kapanen necessarily has the grit or physicality but he definitely plays a fast tenacious game with the willingness to forecheck and has great defensive awareness. That’s what Mike Sullivan would like to see. He’s not complete as complete as someone like Jason Zucker or Brandon Saad but he definitely has the talent and speed to play alongside someone like Crosby.

Pens absolutely play a physical brand of hockey; top hitting team in the league. They are tough, and do it with speed and ferocious on the forecheck; Kap just doesn't fit that style of play.

Well, they have guys that are capable of delivering hits, like Tanev, Aston-Reese, Rust, Hornqvist, Johnson, Pettersson & Marino but they don’t scare or intimidate anyone. They are fast and fearless, but I wouldn’t consider them amongst the toughest teams in the league.

Fast physical play, strong on the boards and on the puck. That's not exactly how I'd describe Kap.

Well he’s definitely a more finesse player than a physical intimidating one. But he is fast, he commits to playing a 2 way game, he forechecks and can get scoring chances. I wouldn’t mind him on the Pens, but they aren’t willing to give up any assets the Leafs want.
