NYR and TML three way

Created by: STLBlues17
Team: 2019-20 St. Louis Blues
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 17, 2020
Published: Jan. 18, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Blues get: Kapanen, Rykov, 5th
Give up: Sanford, Bortuzzo/Gunnarsson, 1st
Pros: add a top-6 forward making nothing for the next few years, shed a bit of cap space
Leafs gets: Georgiev, Bortuzzo/Gunnarsson
Give up: Kapanen
Pros: They get a great backup as well as a solid, cheap, defensive defender
Rags get: 1st, Sanford
Give up: Rykov, Georgiev, 5th
Pros: they turn their undrafted backup goalie into a 1st round pick

My opinion is that the Leafs get the worst end here, but if Georgiev is apparently worth Kapanen it could be fair. Maybe they’re more inclined to do it with a strong 3rd pair guy like Bortuzzo included. They could run:
Reilly-Barrie
Muzzin-Holl
Dermott-Bortuzzo
Trades
1.
STL
  1. Georgiev, Alexandar
  2. Rykov, Yegor
  3. 2020 6th round pick (NYR)

  2. 2020 1st round pick (STL)
2.
STL
  1. Kapanen, Kasperi ($1,600,000 retained)
Additional Details:

I mean I don’t really think Georgiev gets Kapanen but apparently Paul Marner does

The only reason I would say no with kapanen is because our right side doesn't have nearly as many options after kapanen. I think kapanen can be a second line RW on the right line but his speed is to much for Tavares. Would you consider it with johnsson instead?

I wouldn’t give up a 1st for AJ and I don’t think NYR would want less than a first

You’re kidding right? A first round pick for your backup goalie who you signed as an unrestricted free agent. What backup goalie has even gotten a first round pick in the last ten years?

Rangers do not have an interest in a first round pick, they want young NHL forwards. Dreger stated that the asking price is high and someone like Kasperi Kapenen doesn't even get it done.

Ill trust Darren Dreger's opinion over yours i think.

First round picks have a ton of value man, you could easily flip it for a good forward. Either way, I think you might be disappointed at the Georgiev outcome

You are correct and I do agree with you that the first could be flipped for a forward. I am just saying that they might want someone back immediately rather than getting into another trade discussions.

They did that with Trouba last year so I do agree with you, just going based off of what I hear from the experts.

But TML cant even get Georgiev straight up for Kapanen.
I see you feel different... TML easily has the best of t hi is trade but you cant see through your favoritism....

NYR are getting ripped off... St. Louis also...

This is not close, nobody accepts.

Cory Schneider went from Vancouver to NJ for the #7 overall pick.

Try again.
