Considering that Pettersson is the same age as Rasmus Andersson (who got 6x$4.5 million), produces more offense, and has better underlying numbers, and also the fact that he he took a discount for a one year deal this year due to the cap situation, I would expect a lot more money

Yeah I think he will get something closer to dumoulin’s contract

I think after the whole Maatta debacle they're going to figure out a way to not spend the same money. Maybe a two year bridge-deal.

The Maatta contract worked out fine. Was still moveable after he his career didn't go the way that was expected. They got Kahun and a pick out of it along with a few decent years of Maatta.

After the season Murray is having (.899 sv %) and in addition isn't under contract there is no way we move Saad straight up for him. We'll be going after re-signing Lehner and bringing up one of our prospects.

Here's the thing about Murray. He's a second half of the season kind of guy. He's already getting back to normal and I'd honestly love to keep him, but for the Pens if Jarry can be close to what Murray does it would cost the half the price. Murray was amazing down the stretch last year. The Pens just played as bad as they possibly could.

The Maatta contract from what I remember was not that easy to move. Chicago just happened to see something and felt they had young forwards to replace Kahun. I'm not saying I completely disagree with you on the money Pettersson could command, but I think it's very possible he signs for less than $4M.

As soon as they wanted to move him, they moved him.
