Yes exactly edmonton needs less depth and more terrible fourth liners! A player has success and the first instinct is to get rid of him and play more garbage.

This is pretty much exactly what happened with Zack Smith in Ottawa after the 15-16 season lol

Yeah dump him and watch the Tkachuk's of the league start taking runs at McDavid, smart move.

A 28-year-old career 4th liner who never topped 30 points. Why do you guys act surprised when you put a 4th liner on McDavid's line and he scores few goals?

Like, do you not realize how good McDavid and Draisaitl are and how little this guy did before that? Amazes me how fans fail to grasp this basic information.

The Tkachuk's (there are exactly 2 of them) of the league take runs at scrubs like Kassian that throw tantrums and give them free power plays.

That's absolutely true. But certain guys can't play with McDavid and Drai, it's hard to keep up and capitalize on chances when everything is happening at a ridiculous speed. We tried lucic with McDavid and Drai for years, he couldn't capitalize on the opportunities he got. We've tried so many players with McDavid and Drai, and honestly its really hard to find someone who's a good fit. I wouldn't mind paying kassian 2.5 - 3 million just for the peace of mind that we have someone who's capable

Just a matter of time before he starts running the stars of the league.

You could get Boyd from Washington for a 4th. Could turn into a Stephenson 2.0 move?

Actually Boyd is the better player imo. Stephenson is more speedy but Boyd is overall better. Guy is a career average 30p/yr average for a 4th liner. He’s just never really got an opportunity to play like Stephenson due to the capitals depth.

He would be a low risk high reward type player the oilers could use.

hes shooting a ridiculous spike in Shooting% being on mcdavids line. Its most dont be foolish giving out too much money and term for a guy who is on a 40 game run.
Chiasson did the exact same thing last season, they gave him now too much money to be in the role that he is in...clearly they haven't learned their lesson and doubling down on Kassian

Keep him but dont be reckless with the contract, a 4 year 3.5m-4m seems reckless bc he wouldnt get that on the open market, Look at Maroon he didnt get it when he had the McDavid bump going into UFA
