Description
If it isn’t already clear; and with a heavy “heart” to say it.
Jones is done. He was once one of my favourite players. I think everyone can admit he was one of the best players in 2016, and he earned his pay day. No one thought jones was going to fall of a cliff when he signed that contract; no one. He was talked about on NHL and Sportsnet as one of the top goalies on the league (not top 3 or anything but top 10 at the very least (some places had him top 5).

Nothing led you to believe hed play like he ended up playing last year. And after the playoffs there was still doubts about him but many believed he played prettt damn well and stole us games (like he would regularly do in the past). But the sharks have done everything they can to get him back and nothings work.

Aaron Dell has STOLE his net. He is the sharks new number one. Jones got his shot last game after having the net taken from him and time to practice and get ready. And he blew it. The air was out of the team in the first minute. They don’t have confidence in him in net; after letting that goal in they lost what little they had. Players gave up. And after that last second goal in the first it was the back breaker. He wasn’t pulled because the coaches realized we can’t kick him while he’s down he needs a chance and yet again; the 2nd period the team was drained and the team couldn’t buy a stop.

I love jones and wish this wasn’t the place we are in; but he’s done and the team is done. Rebuild this season, we need a different team. We can’t say what some of the staff has said and say “hey we missed in 2015 and then moved onto 2016 the finals”. He need drastic moves not subtle tweaks.

I’m interested to see how the Bruins turn out after that Backes and the 1st. Marleau and Thornton are pretty old and could provide some depth to a Bruins team striving to win the Stanley Cup. It’s good that Thornton if he accepts a trade, he finally gets a chance to win.

Upgrading from Kapanen to LaBanc at #3 RW behind Marner and Nylander isn't going to ring Toronto's bell; even if you substitute Meier instead, I don't think the Maple Leafs get full value for that first. Teams that need RWs with upside are the Islanders and Hurricanes (among others).

They’re old but they can play. Thornton is a solid 4C and 3rd C if needed but will provide good time on the third line.

Marleau has really play great under our system (which won’t always translate) but he’s been in our top 6 since joining the team and hasn’t really left or given us a reason to move him. He’d be a great middle 6 player for the bruins and both wouldn’t have as much pressure. I’d think it makes the bruins extremely deep for the price of under 2 million for both and also 4 million more (since backes is gone), it could make the bruins additional TDL moves dangerous

It’s a partial upgrade/ cap hit, you get Dillon and labanc for less then 3 million, and I get your point fully as to why I put the conditions on the pick to try and make it a little better. but also I like the idea of Dillon in Toronto and wanted to
Make the trade bigger (as to my description making a big trade).

I dont like the Tor deal. Would much rather deal Labanc to get a 2020 first.

Except that Dillon is a leftie and a UFA, and I don't think either element meets Toronto's requirements.

Don't I hear those Carolina guys constantly wishing for a right-handed forward with scoring ability? And they have two first-round picks this June?

I’m actually more interested in seeing they’d actually take a **** at the cup if traded to boston ?
