muzzin is a better all around D than Rielly (who is terrible at defending opposing teams top lines)

But no one can replace the 24+ min per game. The leafs defence was already really average and rasmus sandin is not ready to play in Nhl at all. And even if reilly isn’t a really good defender, he had improve enough under Babcock to be efficient defensively. Wasn’t great but he could stand is ground.

youre delusional if you don't think Sandin is ready

he's been great for the leafs so far

Leafs seem to be playing fine defensively tonight. Do you just check scores to come out from under your bridge?

seems more to me like the offence is drying up recently. that's probably worse than if the defence is bad

I like sandin , I think he could be a solid #3, #4 Dman one day. He could probably use more time in the AHL to work on his skating, but he's good enough to play in the NHL right now.

Defensively he is a total wreck. At home, he isn’t expose that much but when the leafs play on the road he get bad matchup and look out of position a lot. He have amazing skill for defenseman and a tremendous vision there no doubt about that but it’s defensively the big problem. And you think that you are fine defensively since you suck all year long but that team is disgusting in their own zone.

And you think that you are fine defensively since you suck all year long but that team is disgusting in their own zone. On defense Leafs aren’t checking stick and blocking pass lane. They let open the blue line so the opponent can enter the zone with full speed. Forward beiing caught out of position down in the zone that open shot lane. That not playing good defense. Watch some dallas or arizona game you will notice what good defensive play is

Just hitting a wall the last two games. It happens. Team did not look in sync at all tonight.

Obviously not having Muzzin is a big factor, but the way they defend as a team is not good enough.

The offense is so good that they could probably skate by if they were getting elite or even above average goaltending, but they aren't getting that. Andersen has been pretty much bang on league average this year.

Who really cares about one game when the Leafs goalie did not exactly have a stellar performance. You do realize that this was the last game before the break and alot of players are probably thinking more about their holiday plans for the next week.

I notice the obnoxious ACGM's gushing over Toronto's every move have been almost non-existent.... then I see Toronto has 1 win in their last 6 GP and it makes sense.
