Probably but FLA has no reasons to move him.

You and i have gone back and forth on this..... you are not giving up a first and you are not giving up robertson.

So what are you giving up? Are you giving up Dellandrea? You have to give something to get something, a 2nd and some fringe AHL players are not getting it done.

I'm not giving Robertson or Dellandrea, but I'm not opposed on giving the 1st.

A first and a prospect is the asking price according to Dreger.

Now, that can be flip flopped for a young NHL forward and a mid/lower level pick. NYR are starting to make the motion to start winning meaningful hockey games next year.

Well I've had this thought of trade as such:

Dallas Stars
Chris Kreider
2020 3rd round pick (DAL)

New York Rangers
Mattias Janmark
Adam Mascherin
Julius Honka
2020 1st round pick (DAL)

How does that sound?

You are offering a lot of quantity and not a lot of quality. It might fit the bill for someone like OTT but not NYR.

The first round pick does not move the needle for me.

Dunno, there aren't exactly any "spare parts" to that trade that would make it quantity for quality. It's Honka+Mascherin+1st for Kreider and Janmark for a 3rd for cap reasons.

Let's just say that I can't see any team paying any more than that for Kreider, if they're looking to make a profitable deal in exchange to one playoffs of a rental winger... He's not getting the maximum value due to being a pending UFA. For example, players like Evander Kane and Gustav Nyquist were moved for a cheaper price than that...

Honka is more wasteful than Lias Andersson.

Mascherin isnt at a PPG in the AHl ( Not attractive

Mattias Janmark is a bottom 6 player.

the first does not do anything for NYR, you could make the argument that they could flip it for another player but they want immediate talent. Robertson fits the bill, I understand that you do not want to give him up. But NYR would be stupid to not ask for him.

If you require a prospect to be point per game player in AHL, your expectations are far from realistic. Even Robertson isn't that...

1st rounder does you just the thing every pick does, it gives you a prospect. How it turns out, only time will tell.

Regardless, your demand for the rental winger is far too steep. You can get a 1st and a low prospect for Kreider, tops. No one is paying more than that for a rental winger.

And at the moment I do not see DAL moving Dellandrea, Robertson or Harley for rental players in basically any reasonable circumstances.

I disagree whether you like it or not, Rick nash(who produced less than kreider) cost a b+ prospect in Ryan lindgren who is currently a bottom pair defenseman in the nhl at 21, a first round pick, a good roster player at the tipe in ryan spooner(eventually flipped for ryan strome) and a 1.9 million dollar cap dump.

You may not like it but robertson gets you in the door to talk about kreider.

BOS paid overprice just due to him being Rick Nash, a great scorer and former 1st overall pick. Didn't he have a super good season just before the year he was moved? Also BOS paid more to get rid of Beleskey and Spooner.

By the same token, the players I used as examples, Kane and Nyquist, had both had a better season than Kreider did, yet their return wasn't as big. Nyquist even at half retained only got a 2nd and 3rd...
