It's going to cost you a lot more to get a top pairing defenseman like Dumba then 2 middle 6 players cap dumps and a 2nd

Wild trade is awful for MN. Dumba+Staal for Kerfoot+2nd+ a bunch of things they don't need or want.

Rangers don’t need any goalie prospects. They have Wall, Huska, Igor(as of now their future), Lindbom. Georgiev is playing very well right now and that’s why they’re willing to trade him.

Dumba is not a top pairing defense man, he is a second pairing defense man

Yet he averages the 2nd highest time on ice for Minnesota, only behind Suter. If Dumba is not a top pairing caliber defenseman then he is worth less then a top pairing caliber defenseman but dont put him on your top pair then when trade for him. (Yes i know you didnt make this specific thread but it happens all the time).

Dumba is a quality Top 4 defense man, Kerfoot and Johnsson are also Quality assets. Both teams are trading from a position of strength to fill weaknesses - personally I don't think the proposal above is adequate to land Dumba and certainly not both Dumba and Staal - I do think that Minny and TO make great trading partners and TO certainly has the assets to land Dumba ,don't see it happening in season more likely an offseason transaction. Would look something along the lines of TDL trade = Dumba to Leafs for Kapenen and Ceci+ Bracco + Lilly + 2020 3rd.

list of things that goaltenders have been traded for in the past few years

Louis Domingue: 7th round pick
Garrett Sparks: 4th round pick + David Clarkson
James Reimer: Scott Darling + 6th
Connor Ingram: 7th
Keith Kindkaid: 5th
J-F Berube: Jordan Schroeder
Phillip Grubauer: 2nd
Peter Budaj: Andy Andreoff
Darcy Kuemper: Scott Wedgewood+Tobias Rieder
Petr Mrazek: conditional 3rd Conditional 4th
Ben Bishop: 4th

I don't see any 1st's in there, nor do I see any players that are as good as Kasperi Kapanen

Get your head out of the clouds. Goalies don't have that much value

I agree NYR doesn't need any goalie prospects. Just a heads up though regarding Wall... Wall is a UFA come August 15th and because NYR has a log jam of goalies, he might decide to sign with a different team where he might have an easier path of reaching the NHL. I'm surprised NYR didn't sign him this offseason. Maybe Gorton trades his rights this trade deadline as a throw in to an upcoming trade?

Wild and Tor really don't make good trade partners. Wild need a goalie, a top-6C and a true top line wing. So unless Marner or Nylander (as a center) are coming back in trade then there isn't anything Tor will trade that MN needs.

Kerfoot as a 3C is interesting; but a pair of mid-2nds, or a high 2nd and a 3rd is all I'd offer for him. I like Lily a lot, but he's a guy I think Tor needs to hold on to.
