how on earth does Kapanen for Georgiev keep being suggested? Like it's a terrible value deal for the Leafs no matter how many times it's offered or suggested. A Backup goalie does not get you a 2nd line winger. It just doesnt.

By all means, sub in Johnsson or Kerfoot instead of Kap. Going to be one of those 3 if you want him.

If you want Kap it's going to have be Buchnevich going the other way.

Minnesota has plenty of depth at defense, there's no chance they trade a young and promising player like Fiala for a defenseman.

Rangers are not trading Skjei or Fast and they have little interest in Kapanen unless a high draft pick is included in the Georgiev deal. I believe Toronto fans should stop looking at Georgiev as a back up goalie, because he's a starter. Please leafs fans, move on from Georgiev in your many trade proposals... The Rangers have no problem not trading Georgiev and the Leafs have no problem playing Andersson every game until the playoffs. The worst that could come from the Rangers having three goalies is Lundqvist requesting a trade and waiving his NMC, which would be the best thing for the Rangers. So please Leafs fans, find a true back up goalie to make trade proposals with and not a starter like Georgiev. Besides Andersson can handle playing every game the rest of the season and playoffs and Hutchinson is as good as any other back up out there.

Nice, now post the same for NYR homers, cause its them and their threads that think a Backup Georgiev will bring you Kapanen +.......

(a) Oilers's 3rd is going to Calgary already as a result of the Neal/Lucic trade; (b) Jesper Fast is not worth a 3rd and a 4th to begin with; and (c) related to (b), Holland is looking to make the team faster, so I do not see why he would trade for Jesper Slow.

Well truth be told, Kapanen and a 1st (maybe a 2nd) will get the leafs Georgiev. Though I'd rather NYR keeps Georgiev than trade him for Kapanen and a 2nd. Considering there's no other goalies out there talented enough to basically split playing time with Andersson the rest of the season and save him from being completely burnt out come playoff time. One could assume Toronto's GM might start considering Georgiev a 1B goalie because there's not really a back up goalie available for trade that's any better than Hutchenson. Sorry, that's just how it is.

Rangers are not trading Fast for a 3rd and 4th round pick, he's much more valuable to the Rangers than those picks. So the trade seems bad for both teams. For the record, Fast is most certainly not slow.

Haha. I honestly have never noticed his footspeed, just going off what I have heard. I just wanted to call him "Jesper Slow" smile

Because no goalie anywhere close to Georgiev's talent is available to be traded for. "I'm not even going to waste my time on this one", because everyone obviously loves Toronto and should give them every trade for pennies on the dollar. It's a shame because with a 1B goalie like Georgiev, this Toronto team could be as good as the 1967 Toronto team.

If Kap for Georgiev comes up, that should be the deal in my opinion. Lias + complicates it.
