That's a massive package for Domi. If that 1st isn't protected, I would say Montreal accepts.

I should have added that this trade is at the draft. Let's call it 11th overall

Hard to turn that down. That's quality and quantity. I guess it depends on how much Domi wants on his next contract.

Almost every trade involving the Sabres I see Risto and our first going out...I don't see it happening. We have no forward prospects to speak of in the system other than Cozens so we need to build the system up which Botterill has stated he wants to do. As for Risto I don't think he gets traded unless it's his contract year and what he is going to ask for doesn't fall into the cap budget of Botterill.

As for this trade Montreal would be nuts not to take it. As reported today from Spectors Hockey "Domi’s name has surfaced a couple of times in recent speculation. While there’s been some grumbling in the Montreal media over his temper, consistency, and supposedly selfish play, the 24-year-old reached a career-high 72 points last season and is on pace for a respectable 55 points. If this is the case I don't see Domi as the type of player that Botterill or Krueger would want, It's either buy into the system or else as evidenced by the benching at times of Miller and Rodrigues. I should say point wise would not be the problem but still think it's a gross over payment JMO

I would rather have a proven young player locked up than gamble on prospects.

We wouldn't be in this spot if pegula didnt blow it with o'Reilly

Glad someone agree's with me on who is to blame for that ROR trade...I just doubt Botterill would make that trade without orders from Kimmy.

Or he would have traded him after the bonus. There is video of him and Arizona's GM talking about a trade on the draft floor that was domi, plus, plus.

That’s a CRAZY overpay for Domi

Plus, he’s playing LW for MTL
Good young player
But idk that he’s our answer at 2C

And that’s just too much to give up
Switch Risto for Miller
Or add something more from MTL (not a pick)

That 2020 1st is very valuable this year
Very good draft
