While the skill of the players may favor Tampa, Tampa could never afford this trade as it results in Tampa adding nearly 3 million additional to an already cap tight team. The goal is to keep the rfa's next year, not be guaranteed to lose at least 1, which this trade would all but ensure unless Tampa flipped Kane at the draft.

Im confused why you say the sharks get younger here. We trade a 23 year old and a 28 year old for a 29 year old and a 28 year old. Joseph isnt really even an NHLer ideally.

I don't know if there are any players in that style that would be available via trade. At least none that would be as good as E.Kane
