Galchenyuk is included in this deal solely to benefit Pittsburgh, so what you have left is three futures for two reasonably valuable players signed for next year (Brodin) and beyond expansion (Zucker). Moreover, given Joseph's experience this year, it's unlikely any of those futures are going to be of much use to Minnesota in 2020-2021. Therefore, I think that at the very least, you'd have to add Lafferty.

I thought of swapping Joseph for Calen Addison but I thought Penguins fans would not like that.

Since Minnesota was willing to take Johnson this summer and trading both of those players would basically indicates a commitment to a rebuild, I would try to include Jack Johnson (even if you need to add more to make up for it). You would have Dumoulin back sometime in February and it gets crowded. Riikola works as a your 4th LD. Johnson is worse and too expensive to keep around long term, especially if you have Brodin.

Poulin = a foal, in french.

PIT trading futures to become a contender. As usual.

MIN finaly start a rebuild with some solid assets.

I like the deal in general but wonder if MIN couldnt squeese out a little more because of the contract years remaining to the 2 players.

Galchenyuk is a non-starter for me as I have absolutely no interest in him!
