Roster Questions Why are so many being sent down

I'm mostly thinking of the Sabres players like Asplund and Pilut

A lot of teams have a bye week heading into the Allstar Weekend, which means they don't play for a week. The idea behind sending those guys down is so these young guys can keep playing during the week off.

Oh, ok that makes sense... I was thinking the sabres had 2 meet roster cuts or something

And for a team like the sabres who are tight against the cap sending those players will make save then money and eventually could be use for a transaction later.
