I still dont get it why you people are hanging on Barrie. Also Holl and Dermott as 2nd Pair next year arent the answer, kids are 3rd Pair quality with Dermott being able to enter bottom of the No.4 D pool, and with the notion Sandin and Liljegren can play that for 800k, 2M and 2,5M is way to much to spend on your 7 minutes Pair.

Cause if D would be built properly, Hutchinson would be just enough for a Backup....or even a tin can.......

At least my NFL Team's office is playing by the tunes of what Bear Bryant said : Offence sells tickets, Defence wins Championships

I don't think any of those teams accept those trades. I do think Dylan Demelo is a great Leafs trade target, just not sure what it would take. Connor Brown was redundant on this roster last year and would be as well this year, unless he's your cousin there's no point in trying to get him back. I doubt San Jose is trading Dell and I don't see the reason for the Ducks to make that deal either.

Brown was signed for last year and the biggest mistake was not playing him as grinder on second Line ( as Hyman was on first ), thing that i was "yelling" all year long, from obvious reasons....it wouldnt allow Johnsson / Kapanen to leetch all those points there and they would be 4 x 2,5M now ( Bjorkstrand ). Kid was 28 Points playing in 4th Line and he landed 3rd, he would be 40+ Points if leetching on Matthews and would be considered bigger asset in any trade that would be made for him.

Those 2M and additional 3-4M from Matthews and Marner overpayme....ehm....new era contracts would allow TML to boost their Blue Line with D men and not with two-way wingers and 2M 3rd Liners.....

Ottawa declines very quickly.

Swap the 2021 3rd for a 2020 2nd and we have a deal.

OTTAWA SHOULD STILL SAY NO TO THAT. They can get 2nd rounder for Demelo alone. Andreas Johnson is a 7th round pick with one good season. Toronto gave him a ridiculous contract the includes bonuses AND a MNTC in it's fiinal year. YIKES. No thanks. Ottawa has left wingers that are ready for NHL duty: Abramov, Formenton, OR we could keep Ennis for a third of what Johnson is making.

Johnson is CURRENTLY on pace for UNDER 40 points this year, and has 6 goals in 34 games. Connor Brown however is on pace for 52 points and is making $1.3M less with no clauses on his contract. Duclair has 29 goals for Ottawa over his 68 games and is making $1.65M. So yes, that Johnson contract is ridiculous, especially for a team up against the cap like Toronto AND for a team like Ottawa that has so many young LW ready to make the leap to the NHL. But hey... if it's a great contract... you should keep it!

Im not saying its great contract tho. Its a pretty damn good deal for mid-6 winger. He is better player than Brown and with increased role in Ottawa he would thrive.

Nah. TOR would consider themselves lucky that were considering it already.

Bracco hasnt made the jumps he needs to. This draft is deep. Were targetting this draft.

Leafs are not trading their 2nd this season tho. They dont have 1st and would be very hesitant to move 2nd.

Why does SJ do this? If we trade UFA’s we would like picks and prospects. Timashov doesn’t help us get closer to a top six forward

Then it needs to be 2021 2nd+

Toronto negotiating from a position of weakness is not the Sens problem lol

He had a great season in 18-19 but Connor Brown also had 20 goals for the Leafs when he got to play with Matthews. Hell, even Chiasson put in 22 when he got to play with McDavid, but Edmonton knew better than to throw $3M and a MNTC at him. I'm sorry, I just think Johnsson's production plummets as soon as he lines up with NON-elite players, which is kind of what we're seeing now.
