Kings decline, they don't need any more long term contracts for old guys.

Leo only has two years remaining, wouldn't call that long term. LA is essentially getting a 3rd and a prospect (what Dal Colle's ceiling is, I don't know), to take on a $3 million contract for 2 years. Doesn't sound like a terrible deal to me.

I think Leo wants to stay on the east coast too. I remember he was bummed that the leafs didnt resign him and opted to stay close, plus he has a modified NTC.
If he did waive it to go to LA, it could be based on the intention of moving him back east. He has value for sure

Can't see the habs trading Danault for Leddy at this point. Before the season started Tatar for Leddy was an option but now I think the values don't match up anymore. Nor the goals for the team moving forward. Its trending at another retool.

I do however think that the Habs based on realistically needing to retool and always having cap space could help you out with Ladd for that price. Not sure Ottawa is a realistic destination if Ladd is actually being paid by the team. Ottawa wants LTIR players only so they don't have to pay them actual money. Ladd keeps coming back from injury which makes things trickier for the team adding him. MTL has oodles of cap space and a rich owner. Adding another 1st in the 2020 draft in Montreal could make sense for them. Heck, they may even play Ladd as a 13th forward type player in MTL in hopes of building him up a little.

Don't see Leo really adding to scoring for LA, so it kind of just seems like a salary dump for a third-rounder, which really isn't worth it how I see it. Hopefully, the rebuild is done after this year, I think it would be unwise for the Kings to take on yet another contract where someone is headed into their mid-thirties. I do like Leo though, hope you all can find a good match for him it's just not us.

Leddy doesn't get you Danault, NYI would have to add to it.
