Florida would be stupid to do this. Trocheck is a good player on a team friendly contract while Kuz is making almost 3 million more and they have Barkov.

Wait this is a stupid trade only for florida? Might be a dumber trade for the caps. Eller is not a 2C and Trocheck has had his ups and down this year. Only reason this is stupid for florida is the cap. Its stupid for the caps for a lot more reasons

You are right, Eller is not a 2 C. He's good in a pinch and temporarily. Short term this might hurt a bit but with McMichael coming in a year or two, I think long term Caps can move Kuzy for assets and build around others. Of course, Brian McClellan could find a more fair trade than mine of course and maybe with someone other than the Panthers.

Can get a better, younger center for Kuznetsov than this. I love Trochek but he isn't on Kuzey's level.

Kinda risky to put your eggs in one basket by assuming McMichael will instantly become a 2C for the caps. I think he would be better off starting as a 3C role and moving up from there. With backstrom getting older, Kuz is your next in line for 1C. I think the caps should keep him. Then again i am a pens fan so please trade him and backstrom and wilson and your whole team while ur at it loool

Yes but he was so checked out on Saturday and he keeps doing that. I would think we would have to at least lose a trade by a little because of the circumstances...(of his inconsistency).

Why would the Caps trade Kuznetsov for anything less than a king's ransom? Players who score at a .91 points per game pace don't grow on trees, especially players who are perceived as "not trying". Yeah, he's not playing his absolute best this season, but he's still really effective. Maybe he'll take the next step in the playoffs again this season, like he did in the 2018 playoffs where he had a Conn Smythe worthy performance, and probably deserved it just as much as Ovi did.

Look, I hope he does but the team could be even better with someone who doesn't get peeled off of the boards, send passes in the o zone to no where and ends offensive zone opportunities by the handful. I just think (maybe not Trocheck) the Caps could be even better with someone who had those strengths even if he didn't score as much.

Doubt it. He's an elite talent, whether he "checks out" or not. Trading him to lose value would not be smart.
