Do they? That first is probably going to be a top 5 pick and they are cap hell with all their RFAs. As a Detroit fan, I probably wouldn't want to give up this compensation. I like the idea of getting Serg but I'd want to see them try and offer sheet that maxes out the 2nd round pick compensation.

I would think so as well, but it'd surely be worth it for the Wings to explore this option. As long as the Wings offer sheet (if accepted) wouldn't cost them more than a 1st and 3rd. Anything above wouldn't be worth it.

second round pick would be $2,113,717 - $4,227,437. I think TB will offer 4.5-4.9 @3 year bridge, similar to McAvoy. But if he keeps progressing someone may offer in the 5.8 to 6 mill range and that would certainly squeeze TB.

Of course they will. Sergachev is pretty solid for them and will have a bigger role next season. Is ice time have increased around 2 minutes in each of is first three season and offensively he is very solid. Sergachev will
Look at provorov or werenski deal as comparable with tampa bay. So that offer is what tampa will probably and up signing him to for two or three year. On a 5 years deal he will probably be looking for something over 6 millions. Even with their cap situation signing sergachev to a 5 millions deal is probably already in their plan so to make them think about it you would need to raise the offer over 7 millions.

I don’t think yzerman will explore that avenue in the next few season since detroit might have top 5 pick in the draft for the next few season. He might explore that option when the team when the team will be on the verge of being competitive.

As a Wings fan - I know we're rebuilding and draft picks are king when it comes to a rebuild, but I would have no issues with losing a 1st and 3rd to acquire an already proven NHLer that is 21 years old and fills the need of a top pair defenseman. Anything more than a 1st and 3rd wouldn't be worth the offer sheet though.
