Why? They need to dump a goalie = 2nd pick

Deangelo has had off ice issues for awhile now which hits his value

Kapanen is a great value player with a very affordable contract

Duszak is a decent prospect and came up through the US development program- and was ranked quite high on the Athletics rankings.

You’re probably right- maybe it’s more 3950 for a single year of RFA

Brutal takes tears of joy

A number of teams will haven interest in Geo and a mid-late second might get it done but when you account DeAngelo he is worth much more than a mid six winger and a C prospect

I subscribe to the athletic too and Duszak was the 14th ranked prospect on the 21st ranked team so no that does not equate to the value of the package from NYR, try again

You want Tony and Georgiev, start with Nylander and haggle on the edges.

Few things... TDA has done phenomenally and is on pace for 64 points over an 82 game season. He is NOT taking a 1 year deal, he is not taking $4M. He will get $5.5-$5.5M between 4-6 years.
JG has supposedly stated he isn’t taking a pick or prospect not ready now for Georgiev. The theory of AG= a 2nd negates that. NYR don’t HAVE to trade AG as Lundqvist contract is only 1 more year and Shesterkin is exempt from expansion draft. They don’t really need D prospects as the right side is set and they have Nils, Miller, Keane, Robertson waiting. NYR need top 6 players as the prospect pool is weak in this regard. Kapanen can be very big in this regard but if adding TDA who is young and a 60 pt dman who runs the PP, as well as a decent defenseman, that can be a start to discuss Nylander and I’m definitely not saying it is enough but a fair start to a bigger ask to get Willy.

I really don’t see teams lining up with 1sts in a deep draft year. NYR will eventually gave the fact that goalies don’t sell for much on the open market-

Kapanen for Deangelo is perfect- it’s a risk for both teams

That is totally reasonable! Let’s add Bracco and consider it done

I still don't see a reason for them to lose Deangelo. I may be wrong

I agree on the draft pick point, I didnt necessarily mean a higher pick if thats how it came off, I just meant a bit higher value, No way should Geo get a 1st imo

a Dman on pace for 70ish points does not get dealt for a mid six winger with a 50 pt ceiling, this isnt on your PS4

What are Tony D's off ice issues? That he's a Trump supporter? That he gives the analytic guys a hard time on twitter? Give me a break.

This trade is beyond awful, DeAngelo would not accept that contract, neither salary and pay is enough

Make that 2nd a Conditional 1st, swap Bracco for Duszak and the Rangers have to say yes.

Also Tony's contract would be more like 4-5 years at 5.5-6 mill.

Goaltending is voodoo and a huge risk, no team is gonna give NYR a better roster player than Kappy or Johnsson for DeAngelo.

Pretty sure Willy has proved this season that his value is higher than a one off potential fluke season from a D Man who's had issues everywhere he's gone until now. Leafs only trade Nylander if someone like Dumba or elite young top 2 RHD becomes available.

jfc, at this point we should just keep the kids and sign them to deals that will look great in a few years. Force Hank to watch from the press box and build with the great pieces we have. Let's make make Troubla play 3rd pairing until he remembers what gap control is and give Lundkvist a year in the AHL. We can be set on the right side from here on out. And we can have our goal tandem down also. There isn't anything teams are willing to deal that will be worth what these players already promise in value given where they are currently in development. We shouldn't have signed Trouba.

DeAngelo and Georgiev would cost in the ball park of Kapanen, Nicholas Robertson, 2020 2nd round pick, and a 2021 1st round pick.
