Edmonton would be interested, but only if the price is right.

I think a lot of teams would be interested but I think his NMC could make it difficult. Only so many teams need center depth, only so many teams have the cap space, only so many teams Koivu would accept to, only so many teams willing to give Minny what they'd want in trade, etc.

He most likely won't waive his NMC

    What about MTL giving:

    Brett Kulak
    Nick Cousins
    5th round pick in 2021

    Don't think its fair but

I would hope my scenario below is how Koivu should be handled. If the Wild are out of the playoff race they go to the player and ask him. "Are you willing to be traded, and we will only trade you to a true contender. .....so that might be St Louis.Winnipeg, Isles, Tampa. If Koivu agrees, I don't think the Wild should be bartering trying to get best return. Just treat your life long Wild player with dignity and allow him to have a chance to win a Cup in his last NHL season.

I agree 100%, but everything we've been hearing from our beat writer points to Koivu wanting to retire playing his entire career with one team. I would love to see Koivu lift the Cup even if it's with another team but sadly I don't think it will ever happen.

He can be picked up as a depth player for a club expecting a deep run, but I can’t think he will fetch the Wild more than a 4th round pick. His history of injuries and age are against him.

Mikko won't be waiving his NMC, so there is no deal here.

Koivu would get a 2nd if he agreed to a trade. I don't think he waives his NMC and retires as a life long Wild player with 1k+ games played after the season.

I don't have any issue if he wants to chase a Cup somewhere and takes a trade, or just hobbles off into the sunset with the Wild after the season.
