I'd hope if we trade him it's for a promising center prospect/young player. Most teams willing to give up a first are contenders and thus we'd be getting a late first for him which I think would be a mistake. We shall see I suppose

Honestly Nylander is the only enticing piece the Leafs have that would be fair but Leafs aren't trading him so...

Your Crazy to think Dumba is not a elite D man.
25 year old Right D Man at 6 mill and term , and is a top two D man on pretty much all teams.
He's better than any Leafs D they have now, maybe other than Reilly

According to all Minnesota fans, he isn't even top 2 on his own team. Dumba has been a guy that was supposed to be elite and has never taken the turn to becoming that. He's a 2nd pair defenceman making top pair money. And no he isn't better than any Leafs defenceman. He's not better than Muzzin, or Rielly. He's a very good player, don't get me wrong but he is definitely not elite. He isn't a legit #1 defenceman, let alone an elite one. Settle down there bud.

I think that if you look at what erik karlson deal. With the term remaining. The wild would probably have to received the leafs best prospect ( sandin ), some of the good leafs prospect in bracco or robertsson and a established young players like kerfoot and a first round pick and a second round pick. I am going off his career, he had a good season sure, but he's also only done that once and in that season he wasn't the top pair defender on the team, it was Spurgeon on the right side with Suter. I have said the same thing about him every year. Two seasons ago he sure looked like he finally was figuring it out. Then he fell back to what he's been.

Yeah Muzzin doesn't have the greatest speed but he's extremely good defensively, is decent at moving the puck and is physical. Muzzin has been a top pair defender for the past 5 years and if you look at his years in LA, no matter if he was paired with Doughty or Martinez, all his stats and advanced stats were top pair worthy. In fact both Doughty and Martinez were worse away from him. He made Zaitsev look like a capable shutdown defender last year in the playoffs, and has made Holl look terrific this season as well. He's criminally underrated.

I get that Dumba is kind of having a stinker year, but his likelyhood of rebounding makes it likely for the wild to just hang on to him and wait for his value to rise rather than selling low on a potential all star young RHD.
