Ok now you were the one who first got me to start using Bryson in trades, but I figured his value was just a "low top 4 defenseman", or essentially the value of a 2nd round pick. I think Mantha is worth much more than the equivalent value of three 2nd round picks...

I can't see Yzerman trading Mantha for any package that doesn't involve a first-round pick, and one in 2020, too.

I agree. I'd want to know what his next contract is before giving up assets

Idk, hes hurt and needs a new contract. Career high of 25 G and 48 p, big and 26 next years old next season. Hes definitely not worth 2 1sts. Id leverage Mittelstadt though

I didn't mean two firsts; I meant that Detroit wants a first, and one in 2020, not 2021. Sorry for the confusion. What I meant was, you can't rehabilitate your original trade by changing the 2021 second to a 2021 first.

Mantha isn't available first off, And secondly once again those pieces are nowhere near enough for him.

Probably not available, but he'll be 30 by the time Detroit is competitive again, and in this league thats AARP territory, so its not the worst idea to move him. Just because you dont know what those pieces are doesnt mean they dont have value. Bryson has been a fantastic defenseman who still has upside on the offensive side of the puck, but then again he's a first year pro in the A on assignment to develop his defensive play for the NHL so all is going according to plan there. I also said id leverage Mittelstadt, and i dont disagree with OldNYIfan that turning the 2nd into a 1st could seal it. Mantha may be Detroit's most valuable, available asset, but hes not close to the most valuable in the league. Not this specifically, but any trade in this ball park would look good on Detroit
