Jets next year - add Lehner Hamonic Trade Buff

Created by: jimmyjets
Team: 2020-21 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 20, 2020
Published: Jan. 20, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Trade Buff to his home state team to finish out his career. They trade Matt Dumba to make the cap work.

Sign Lehner specifically to be the player taken in the expansion draft. Split starts for next season. 41 each. Then use his and Perreaults caphits on Laine, Pionk, Poolman and Copp. Lowry if we can fit him.

Add Hamonic in free agency to be the Defensive D we need to pair with JMo. He can PK so him and Poolman can be on the right with JMo and Samberg. Heinola - Pionk only play even strength.

Like everyone mentioned, you’re not getting lehner for 2x5, try 5x7.

Also why would MIN trade a 1st for a 34 year old buff that only has 2 seasons left. Especially at that cap hit. It just doesn’t make sense unless we’re taking cap back. Plus buff is probably going to retire anyways. I like the hamonic add especially at 4m, would probably have to be 4x4 though.

Honestly, jets could easily just trade Lowry to a team or Perreault with some retention and have the cap space to give lehner 5 or 6 x 7. Would have to hope to god Seattle
Picks him or were left with 13m ties up in goaltending.

If they signed Lehner he's the guy to keep, he's way better than Hellebuyck.

He's good but I wouldnt say he's "way better" then Bucky. There numbers are comparable and Bucky's done it over more games

Just watching them tells me Lehner is the better goalie, he's just far more structurally sound as a goalie, Helly just looks like a big goalie who has nothing special to his game.
Helly always goes back to his bad habits of sinking deep in his crease and flopping on his belly, that 3rd goal Chicago scored was classic Helly.

You might be right, but i dont think you're giving Bucky enough credit. It's not like the jets have a realistic shot of getting Lehner anyways. He'll most likely sign for big money in Chicago or somewhere else that needs a #1
