No way Toronto does this. Miller is a bottom pairing d-man. You don't trade a 3rd line center for 5th d-man

Johnson isn't waiving his NTC to go to Buffalo.

This Samuelsson trade makes MUCH more sense than your Tierney one
But...
Tyler Johnson has been playing wing for a few years now
And why would he waive to leave Tampa to come here?
I just don’t see him waiving

To get more ice time and play a bigger role? To play with Jack Eichel and Rasmus Dahlin? He certainly would consider it

Also to @littlejerryseinfeld , what do you think of Arttu Ruotsalainen? Seems like he is having a solid year in Liiga. You think he can make the jump to the NHL?

Not in this case, Think about it...
Not only would Tyler Johnson have to want to go to a worse team
He’d also be taking a PAY CUT bc of no income tax in Florida

Nice player,
but it just doesn’t make much sense to think he would wanna leave Tampa to come here

He’s playing RW2 in Tampa
He’s not gonna be on our 1st line here

And why is playing with Eichel & Dahlin worth waiving when he’s already playing with Stamkos, Kucherov, Hedman, etc ???

The only way he’s getting more than that here is if they put him on PP1 over MoJo (and Skinner)
And maybe we would, but...
1) that’s not guaranteed
2) he’s still gotta want to leave a contender to come here
3) and at a pay cut bc of the no income tax in Florida

Sorry... just doesn’t make sense

I was hoping for a little more insight... not a facetious answer
