Pens probably gotta send 3rd or 4th back but other than that i like it

Ceci probably plays for pens, although he sucks he's probably better than ruwhedel who is playing rn since schultz and dumo are injured.

I agree but Johnnson is worth like a 2nd, and ceci is a cap dump so the leafs can free up space (this trade would give them like 6 million) so i don't think its that far away.

Not with their cap situation. Can't fit him. They also will be over the cap when all of their players are healthy. With a move like this, it isn't an issue and they can make other moves.

Eh, numbers-wise, there isn’t really is a huge difference between Ruhwedel and Ceci, though Ruhwedel appears a bit better. Ceci has had a worse impact on offense. It's depth, but you do save a million in cap space by throwing him in the AHL. Call him up if someone gets injured.

Yeah none of this works money wise.
You can't just dump Ceci on the penguins because you hate them tears of joy

Lol, no one is this desperate. An expiring contract and a top 6 forward for a backup. What a joke

This trade doesn't work for a few reasons and the most obvious being that Ceci in the lineup every night. With the Rielly and Muzzin injuries, trading Ceci is not really an option unless the Leafs get a D back who steps into the lineup immediately.

Can't see TOR thinking Ceci's contract is that bad.

Source? Pretty sure it’s just because there’s no reason to do it until you need to. They are accumulating cap space right now since they are under.

They should. They also need to make a move to be cap component when healthy.

Just move Ceci for a 5th rounder or something. No point moving Johnsson as well.

Um...why would anyone give up anything for a 6th D that takes up that much cap space? You need to pay someone to take him.

That wasn't the case with Gudbranson...and their contracts and contribution to their team's success is close to identical...

Gudbranson is big and physical. The Ducks like that stuff. It also took until they had several injuries before that actually happened. It also happened when every single team was still in it.

The playoff race is smaller. Most of those teams don't have much cap space nor would they want Ceci. Teams outside the playoffs have no use for him as a rental (unlike Gudbranson who is signed through next year). They likely have to pay someone to take him if they want him moved.
