Description
Reasonings:
Starting off I think Galchenyuk and Schultz are done as penguins. Gally just seems lost and at this point isn’t in Sullivan’s favor. And Schultz could be expendable due to the play of Marino. Bjugstad could be gone too, but I don’t know who would trade for him. Edmonton? Hard to tell. Simon’s role and his numbers as a whole are very similar to Barclay Goodrow, so I used his contract for reference. McCann I dunno. I like his play a lot and do think he’ll be a part of the Pens’ future, but an appropriate cap hit eluded me. 3 Mill doesn't seem like a bad ballpark figure to me. Same goes for Kahun (performance bonuses are just a headache to me for trying to figure what a player would want on a future contract) Pettersson’s cap hit I think is fair. I looked at Rasmus Andersson as a comparable, but I’m not so sure Rutherford would see it the same way. I honestly cant make heads or tails as to guess about the goalie situation (so...¯\_(ツ)_/¯). Addison I think could make the team out of camp next year. If not there’s still plenty of depth options on defense (Ruhwedel, Riikola, Warsofsky, Trotman). Tried to leave room because of performance bonuses but again I dunno ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Ultimately, given with how the pens have been playing, I don’t think a lot needs to change about this team/roster in order to be a serious contender.

Kahun would and probably should fire his agent if he only got 2.7

While I agree it's a LITTLE low, it's not crazy. 37pt rookie season and he's playing at a 46pt clip over 82gm right now. I think a bridge deal is appropriate where he is 24 (going to be 25 when the seasons over) and only 2 seasons of NHL exp. I think 2-3 years 3-3.5M is fine

The term for McCann and pettersson is way too long for such low AAVs

I get that you want to see a team on paper, so i'm not overly critical - But Murray, it's been reported, is seeing mega-millions. Like Bobrovsky money, so 5.75 is very low. I think the Penguins keep either Murray or Jarry and trade the other. Jarry would make sense, if his play is sustained, since he would be due a bridge deal
