I mean, its kind of misleading and that's why the players are probably misinterpreting the question....
Is it:
Best defensive dman (Dman who solely plays a defensive game and very little offense) - examples would probably be guys like Tanev and Dumoulin, etc then. Basically anyone who produces on average over 20-30 points a season does not apply here.
or
Best dman at playing defense (The dman that is best at defending - not taking their offensive prowess into consideration) - This one gets tricky because its tough to separate offensive game from a stud dman. Karlsson was at one time the best dman in the league but was he the best in the league at defending? Hell no.
