Lets not forget how young this team is

Created by: Boomer125
Team: 2019-20 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 21, 2020
Published: Jan. 21, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Before we go and give away the farm or pay way too much for mediocrity on the right side of the D zone let's not forget that this is a young team and they are about 2 years ahead of schedule - there is so much work to be done on the blue line they are more than 1 piece away on the blueline

Quality acquisitions cost Quality assets.
Lots of Junk does equal Quality

TBH I'm so very fine if they miss the show - embarrassment is probably the teacher available for both the players and management.

This AGM is both selling and buying

I buried Ceci just to keep the haters at bay - Reality is he could be moved at the cost of a 5th at 50% retained a 4th at 25% and a 3rd no retention

Not sure that Calgary would be sending a first round pick in that deal, especially with Barrie being a UFA at the end of the season. The Minnesota deal seems like an over-payment, but probably what it would take to acquire Dumba.

I'm not going to comment on the trades because I think that the important message is delivered in the description. This team is young at its core. They do show their immaturity on the regular and they need to learn how to win properly by competing night in and night out instead of when they feel like it. Until they do we can expect the same results.

This is not on one person or player. It takes a village to be bad. There is no single trade that will "fix" the Leafs. This is about culture, determination and a burning desire to want to achieve collectively. This group is fatal flawed in the way it is constructed and has been all year.

To the OP... Well said. Thanks for posting. I wish more people saw the big picture.

With the hot mess the Pacific is I believe the flames consider them selves deep runners, Barrie is worth a first for any contending team looking to bolster their 2nd PP unit which Calgary definitely should be
