Please explain to me why the WIngs trade AA for a UFA in 2021 and a pick that probably won't be an NHLer....please.

I don’t think Anthansiou would be a good fit for Pittsburgh. He’s fast but he’s streaky and not committed to playing defense. He will get put in Sully’s doghouse like Galchenyuk and Kessel.

Even if he did make the big club a 2nd round pick takes at least 3 years to get to that level, 21 years old. Even 1st round picks never make the show.

NB is a cap dump, and in the world of Salary Cap hockey that costs something. You make it sound like trading Nick is some form of upgrade.

Please, remember we do not have to trade AA, he IS NOT a UFA player but a player who is a RFA for 2 more years. I doubt Stevie just gives him away. We are rebuilding and with this team in this shape might as well keep him to see if he rebounds.

The guy is a 2-3 liner on most teams ( can't crack the 1st on DET by the way), had 1 really good year and you want other teams to bank the farm on him? He's a slightly more offensively gifted Bryan Rust. A 2nd on it's own is a good return.

Acquiring Bjugs gives DET a player to look at and trade if he doesn't fit. Picking up players is picking up assets.

Can't crack the 1st line....that's just not even close to true. See the problem here clearly is that you guys don't watch the games, you just see highlights and then lineups and assume things based on nothing.

AA has light years more ability than Rust...one is just playing with the greatest player of all time and the other is playing on a historically bad team.

No, that's not how that works. Acquiring Bjugs is a complete waste of time and something Yzerman would never do because it makes no sense.

Fun fact: Bryan Rust hasn’t played with Sidney Crosby in three years.

You made the assumption that rust was playing with the greatest player of all time which he clearly is not.

It is how it works and it makes sense because when a player looks better with more time on the higher lines (like he can't get with PIT), he looks better and can gain more ASSETS that a re-building team needs. Stevie Y has been a great GM but please don't forget that he is dealing with a VERY different situation than he was in TB. DET has such a void on minor league/drafted talent that every pick is needed.

Do you understand what matchups are? How lines work? There's no 1st line in DET. You would know that if you watched. You would also know that Glendening, a borderline AHL player, played first line for DET the other night against COL.

Bjugstad would never look better with DET. They are a terrible team. And no way do they trade AA away for someone that they could lose for NOTHING to UFA. How is this hard to understand?

To suggest that Rust hasn't played with Crosby in 3 years is mind boggling.

So let's get his straight we acquire your problem in dealing bugstadt and he becomes our problem. Sure! If you can not deal him then what's to day we can. NOTHING. I always love on this site when people say we will trad you player and then you can read him for picks. Translation: we can not move him so you take are crap and good luck moving him.

Stevie is not dumb. And please stop proposing players that we can trade for you. We have enough of our own.

They do play on a line together. Not all the time, but plenty. They play on the PP together. Hockey is a very fluid game, they are on the ice together plenty. He has obviously greatly benefited from playing with Crosby....Malkin too. Both are better than anyone AA is playing with by light years.
