Why would CHI do this? Why isn't D Strome coming back to be the #2C like he's supposed to in a week or 2?

I like your thinking, but if it were up to me, I would past on this. The Hawks aren’t a deep playoff (I said that loosely) hockey club. (They are playing better defensively and there is time for more improvement) and I would rather see the club draft a player in June, than acquire a veteran. 2nd, unless Chicago can get the Ducks to retain salary, they will be no farther ahead structuring their cap. IMO, the cost outweigh the benefits. This would make more sense to me if Getzlaf was a rental.

Do you guys think the Hawks will win the Stanley Cup this season? They've won 5 straight.

Take out the 2020 1st and it's not a bad deal, but that doesn't change the fact that there's no reason to acquire Getzlaf.

Goes the same way... They won how many in a row in that streak? 12? 14? And that was the year they got bounced by Nashville. So yeah, not even a single iota of that adds up.

He's not talking about the playoffs, I think he is referring to the five-game win streak that the Hawks are currently on right now. But yeah none of this post makes much sense for any team involved.
