I don't see the logic in a lot of these. Either from a Habs perspective or the other teams perspective.
I'm with Marco on this one. First, does it not set off warning bells that Hall has played more than half his career and has yet to make any team he has played for better? He didn't lift up the Oilers; The Devils slipped into the playoffs once, but were promptly dispatched. And now the Coyotes seem content to be done with him. I don't really like him at any price, but certainly not for $11M
The Colorado trade seems a terrible undersell. Any conversation with Colorado needs to involve either Byram or Girard. If it doesn't, the Habs are likely wasting time. No doubt, Jost is a very good young player, likely similar to Danault in many ways. But the Habs have a ton of good, young centremen just coming into the pipeline and with Suzuki looking like he'll end up there, it would seem likely that it could get very crowded there shortly.
I just don't think Dumba is all that good to warrant both Mete and a first. It seems a bit too much.
I like the idea of moving Petry to LV, but I'm not 100% sold on this being the move. Eakin is a grinder who had one pretty good year in the last 5, and Carrier is the second-coming of Deslaurier. Both can be had for mid-range picks (2nds through 5ths) or prospects. Those would be Juulsen (a two-way risk) and the 3rd pick. So it really comes down to whether Hague and a late first pick (assumes they'll make the playoffs and advance) would be worth giving up Petry. Maybe replace Eakin with Nicolas Roy and re-balance with picks.
