I hope he stays for another year, but it would be an enormous insult to Kovalchuk to offer him $700k while carrying almost $3.5M in open cap space.

I am with everyone else in saying the Vlasic trade is totally insane. Doug Wilson would pay the Habs to take him and even chip in the moving expenses.

I don't think much of paying Barrie that much. If you're going that route, skip the Vlasic deal and just pay Pietrangelo whatever he wants.

Petry deal is a no for Montreal, he's worth more to us than that
