He's not all that and has never been.
Hell you act like he's McDavid carrying the oilers on his back. He's not.
The question you should be asking yourself is how come he didn't elevate his own lines then if he's that great. You got a team in Boston that is 1 line carrying the whole team.
It's not like he was on teams with 0 help. That just isn't true.
And yes he's 28, which means he's past his prime years. You want to pay him till he's 35 like you are getting years when he was 24. No thanks.
He consistently elevated his own lines, no idea what you're talking about. Didn't lead the next Devil by like 40+ points his MVP year. And yeah, he bascially was on teams with zero help. Anyone ever close to him was McDavid for 1 season.
Yeah he's 28 but still amazing. The best comparison is Panarin, very similar players. Which is why he'll get $11M.

No contract on a player should be going past 33. You are just asking to put yourself in cap trouble later. It's best to keep contracts shorter and not pay them for past accomplishments but what they will currently bring to a team.
O I totally agree with you but that's not how UFA works. You have to overpay to get a player. EVERY team would love to sign players to short, cheap contracts, but it isn't going to happen.

You are just hooked on a name. If he was that great he'd be tearing it up with AZ where he does have help. But he's not really looking like a Hart winning player there now is he.
Yeah I'm hooked on a name that has been a beast his whole career on bad teams. And no, he has VERY little help in ARI, very little. They haven't had a point getter higher than 55 points in almost 10 years. Last season their highest point player had 47 points. Before Hall showed up their leading point player was on pace for 53 points. He has such little help offensively.
