Tatar doesn't move without a first. Samo is great but he's still a project... Samo and a first for Tatar is fair IMO.

I think the Habs would want someone further along the developmental curve. Oilers would likely have to consider sending Evan Bouchard or Benson, though I doubt very much they'd give up a hometown kid. Habs could probably send a decent Euro prospect (Ikonen, Olofsson) to round out a deal.

This is exactly the trade I want to see. It’s no secret the Oilers need some legit help for McDavid and Drai. Tatar would be a big help and with Kovalchuks resurgence we could also be a nice add on. The habs need to add a legit top rhd to replace Petry if he is traded or not extended after next year. We have tons of picks and prospects to work with, I think we can make a nice blockbuster which involves a nice D like Bouchard.

Edit first time poster on here not sure how to reply to a certain comment but this is directed to habsrafiki

Can't see the Oilers moving on from Bouchard. Tatar is a legit scorer but that would be too steep of a pricetag.

It would be a tough decision for sure but Tatar is a legit top 6 with term. Edmonton’s defence is quite good and have some good prospects coming up which make make this happen.

Maybe you should offer us something with substance for this 40 goal scorer.

Thanks for the shout out. Suggesting it would take Bouchard was in no way meant to minimize his value. But Tatar is an exceptional 2-way player and a locker room gem. With the exception of a few mediocre weeks in Vegas, he has done nothing but exceed expectations, first with the Red Wings, then the Habs. Maybe the Habs should offer up a sweetener but I suspect Oilers fans would quickly forget Bouchard when Tuna starts making great plays for them at both ends of the ice.
