Then the Wild say no. Yes, Dumba is available, but we have no reason to trade him unless it's a trade that makes sense. We should be getting ONE of two things in a Dumba trade: top 10 draft pick OR a center prospect/young center with top 6 upside. The only piece that comes close to either of those two things that Toronto has is Nylander. Toronto isn't moving Nylander, so there isn't a trade to be made. The Wild are busting with wingers with arguably one of the best wingers outside of the NHL in Kirill Kaprizov who is coming over next season so we have no need for Johnsson (nor Kapanen for that matter). We already have Belpedio and Mennell in the pipeline who have 2nd pairing upside so adding Liljegren doesn't make much sense either. We also have Soucy who has shown he can play well in the top 4 and of course there's Brodin. So our blue line for now and the future is pretty set in stone. The picks are a nice sentiment, but they are more throw-ins than anything. If neither a top 6 young center nor a top 10 pick are going to MN, we are better off keeping Dumba and waiting for his value to rise.
