Wouldn’t call that a robbery at all. Flames sending two ufas they aren’t resigning, an out of favor Bennett, valimaki is a good prospect but coming off major injury and a first. Getting a solid goalie, d man who can put up same numbers as Brodie who’s under contract for 4 years and an over 0.5 pt per game guy in Buchnevich

that would have to be a pass from the avs. just not the right deal for the Avs....they have too many forwards on the roster already, they cant just absorb 2 additional ones
plus thats way too much value to give up without extensions in place etc.

Kreider would solidify their top six and Fast is a great all situation and lineup player. Could take back one of their depth forwards in the deal. They have a buch of prospects and may be worth sacrificing one to get a legit shot at the cup

Fast is just more the same of Nieto, Nichushkin, and they have Kamanev as the 13th foward so no real draw in Fast.
Kreider yes he would add to their 2nd line, thats why Jost being the piece that moves out for him makes the most sense, they open up the spot for Kreider and dont mess with their roster too much

Landy Mack rants
Kreider Kadri Bura
Nuke Compher Donskoi
Nieto Belle Calvert
Kamanev

They dont have room for 2 foward adds without moving out multiple people and Jost makes the most sense in a simple move for just kreider. Plus there is a chance that hte Avs foward situation could become even messier if Colin Wilson comes back from injury off the IR, then they really cant afford to add 2 forwards to the roster

Makes sense. I just thought Fast might be more useful for pk and end of game scenarios but you do have a full cupboard. Would be a big stretch but interest in Lundqvist as an Avs fan. Grubauer is solid but both guys have been spotty. Ton of cap space available and if the price is right he could have a big playoff impact. Would need to waive his no move clause

NIeto fills that roll on the PK. I think Fast would be a useful pick up for teams but Avs just have a few versions of him already. They need need to legit add like a guy of Kreiders level instead of just nibbling around the edges getting more bottom 6 guys

Grubauer has the chops to get the job done, the avs D is good, especially in terms of shot suppression so I think he has the ability to do just enough for them to win. A goalie add wouldnt be out of the question. I wondered about Georgiev. They would have to move out Francouz (Toronto back up maybe)...but if they had a Georgiev Grubeur combo for the next couple seasons while they wait for Annunen (Finalnd WJC goalie) and find out how legit this goalie prospect is. Could be a smart move for them.

Grubauer did push Holtby to the bench to start the playoffs that last year in Washington. As a Rangers fan I love Georgiev and would kill for a combo of him and Shesterkin next year with him taking the lead. Price seems to be high for him. Not many good landing spots for Henrik. I had Colorado as one of the couple playoff teams with chances. Huge playoff experience and success and can still make big saves. Would be nice to have a d like Colorado’s in front of him for once

its just hanks cap hit that would impact the team too much. they are going to become tighter and tighter with the cap, and 8.5m and 3.3m in Grubi, thats just too much cap space dedicated to the goalie spot that it would hurt filling out the rest of the team.

Avs have the space to add to positions that need, middle 6 wingers. Using the fun money cap space they do have next year at the goalie spot which isnt a major concern, dont think thats the correct cap management for a team entering their cup window

Oh the Rangers would be no doubt eating half the cap hit to make it happen. Avs have a ton of space but eating half would still save the Rangers 4.25 mill which they’d be ecstatic about. Would give them a playoff run and full season with the pair. Price might even be lower then the way they’re hyping georgiev at this point. They’ve done a nice job on their depth with Burakovsky, Donskoi and Nichushkin. Be good to fill in with some young guys and a big free agent
