Detroit isn't going to give up a draft pick for a UFA that won't sign with them.

There’s a good chance Kreider doesn’t waive to go to Vancouver. He would want to go to an American team that’s contending.

I don’t think it’s a good idea for Vancouver to give up future assets for a rental. Kreider is the difference between losing in the first a second round, if that. He’s not a player that can transform Vancouver into a cup team before he immediately leaves for the states in the offseason.

The Leafs have two forwards who grew up in the States under contract for the next five or six years. They seem happy. Admittedly, one was born in Calgary, but don't assume everybody hates Canada, down here. We mostly think y'all are good people, if we've heard of you. smile

Agree that the 'Nucks don't want to give up anyone they could build around. Agree that Lind might be a stretch. Is the rest enough to rent Kreider, if it doesn't get outbid?
